THE JOINT Task Force Davao (TFD) and Davao City Police Office (DCPO) apprehended an individual for allegedly carrying P90,000 worth of dried marijuana at Lasang checkpoint around 8:20 a.m. on Oct. 22.
Authorities identified the suspect only as Alias Niel, 30, single, and a resident of Purok Sampaguita Baon, Barangay San Isidro, Davao Oriental, who was on board a public utility bus heading for Davao City.
Seized from his possession were two sachets and a sack containing dried marijuana leaves.
Col Darren Comia, commander of Task Force Davao, lauded the soldiers manning the checkpoint for their vigilance and swift action.
The suspect and the seized items have been handed over to the Bunawan Police Station.
