Over P1-M worth of shabu seized in Panabo buy-bust operation

AUTHORITIES seized over P1 million worth of shabu and arrested a high-value target in a buy-bust operation in Purok Caimito, Barangay Sto. Niño, Panabo City, Davao del Norte, around 9 p.m. on Sept. 16.

The suspect was identified as alias Junjun, 22, a resident of Purok Andohao, Barangay San Pedro, Panabo City. 

According to PDEA XI spokesperson Nephi Noli Dimaandal, Junjun was arrested after selling a medium sachet of shabu, weighing approximately 10 grams and valued at P100,000, to an undercover agent.

During the operation, authorities also confiscated five sachets of suspected shabu in various sizes, weighing approximately 215 grams with an estimated street value of P1,462,000. Drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust marked money were also seized.

The suspect faces a charge for violating Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

The joint operation was spearheaded by the Davao del Norte Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, along with the Davao Norte Police Provincial Office, and Panabo City Police Station.
