Davao City police prepare security measures for Kadayawan 2024 and IRONMAN

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is already gearing up for the upcoming Kadayawan Festival 2024 and the IRONMAN 70.3, implementing security measures to ensure safe and peaceful events.

DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said the police force is coordinating with the local government unit to finalize personnel deployment.

A send-off ceremony will be held for the deployed personnel and other security clusters involved in maintaining order during the festivities.

“While we have robust security plans in place, the cooperation of the public is crucial in making Kadayawan a success,” Tuazon emphasized.

“We urge attendees to adhere to the guidelines and refrain from bringing prohibited items to the event areas,” she added.

Tuazon also mentioned that the DCPO is developing a separate security plan for the upcoming IRONMAN sports event.

Regarding security protocols for Kadayawan, Tuazon confirmed that the existing “do’s and don’ts” will largely remain in place, though specific details are still under discussion.

To avoid delays and ensure a smooth experience, attendees are reminded to refrain from bringing backpacks, bladed weapons, pointed objects, and non-transparent water containers into the event areas.
