TOG 11 joined and supported the Davao Bay Eagles Club and Davao Bay Ladies Eagle Club as they spearhead in a 2-day comprehensive Medical and Dental Mission together with other joining organizations in Brgy. Indangan, Buhangin Davao City last June 15-16, 2024. Medical teams and experts from the spearheading and joining organizations including TOG 11 provided a full-range of free services including General and Internal Medicine, Surgical, OB-Gyne, Optical and Dental consultations and procedures, including medications, serving over 1000 recipients and beneficiaries from the barangay. Almost all recipients availed of the free general medical consultations with the highest reception during the 1st day. There was blood sugar screening, prenatal check up availed by 13 pregnant women, and Cervical Cancer screening through Pap’s Smear. Minor surgical procedures were done to 20 individuals. Surgical circumcision that was availed by more than 200 young males, and the dental services, mostly tooth extraction, serving 145 recipients. Many availed of the eye examination and free prescription eyeglasses.
With the Davao Bay Eagles Club and Davao Bay Lady Eagles club as prime movers, the event was joined by various government, non-government, private and medical organizations and sectors all equally contributing to the collaborative effort of the massive endeavor, mainly Brgy. Indangan LGU, Davao Medical School Foundation Inc, Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecology Society (POGS), Smiles for Everyone Foundation, Bayotas-Isidro Optical Clinic, Right Choice Pharma and Z3 Pharma. Academic and corporate sponsors were Mapua Malayan College of Mindanao and ThaiPhil Advance Agritech Corporation. Community and civic groups partners included ALiN, United Families for Humanities Inc, and other Davao Eagles Club contingents of various areas.
Security, peace and order Support were jointly provided by: PNP-PRO 11, DCPO, Police Station 2 San Pedro, Police Station 3 Talomo, Police Station 5 Buhangin, Police Station 13 Mandug, 7th Air Reserve Center and the Philippine Coast Guard Southeastern Mindanao.
TOG 11 vitally provided additional manpower, logistical resources and means, as well as added expertise. This reiterates their unwavering commitment to support massive collaborative endeavors such as this medical mission, being one in the goal to serve communities in need, especially on augmenting their reach for crucial services such as health promotion and delivery.
Overall, the mission emphasized how significant collaboration and cooperation is between sectors and organizations in the successful delivery of much needed vital services for communities who need them most.
As how Davao Bay Eagles Club president, Mr. Rolando Henson, remarked: “Our mission is not just about providing medical care, but offering hope, healing and support to those who may have limited access to essential health services”.
TOG 11 remains committed to support such worthwhile endeavors with goals to attain overall community health and wellbeing especially for communities in need.
