DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) personnel received awards while the Toril police was chosen as the best station during the celebration of the 122nd Police Service Anniversary on Wednesday.
Police Regional Office XI director Brig Gen Alden Delvo distributed the awards to DCPO director Col Alberto Lupaz who was chosen as the Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration.
Lupaz also received a Special Plaque of Recognition along with Lt Col Noel Asumen of the 1st Davao City Mobile Force Company; Lt Col Randy Sambalod, Chief of the 2nd Davao City Mobile Force Company; Lt Col Jed Clamor, Deputy City Director for Administration; Lt Col Ireneo Caburnay, Deputy City Director for Operations; Lt Col Paulino Zaulda Jr., Chief, City Investigation and Detective Management Unit, and Roy Geonzon, City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development.
The DCPO special unit awardees included the Criminal and Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)- Davao City Field Unit, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Cybercrime Response Team, Medical and Dental Team, Legal Team, Police Strategy Management Unit, EOD Canine Unit of the Davao City Police Office,1102nd Maritime Police Station, Police Community Affairs and Development Group XI, and Regional Intelligence Unit 11, City Intelligence Team.
Meanwhile, the Best Police Station went to Toril, which was previously headed by Major Michael Uyanguren who was relieved from his post after being investigated for the disappearance of his helper Justine Mae Saldua last Aug. 29.
Delvo was the guest of honor and speaker at the anniversary celebration on Wednesday.
“Let me take this time to congratulate the officers and men and women of DCPO led by the City Director, command group, staff, and all the station commanders,” he said.
“Let us not forget the world is changing rapidly and so are the challenges that our Police officers face. Technologies, evolving threats, and shifting social dynamics demand to adopt and innovate…PRO 11 and DCPO will continue to be at the forefront of the change embracing modern techniques and upholding the highest standard and integrity,” he further said.
