THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) confiscated 24 weapons since the Comelec gun ban was implemented ahead of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on Oct 30.
From Aug. 28 to Oct. 8, 2023, the police conducted 32 operations related to the gun ban and other deadly weapons and arrested 18 violators.
During the AFP-PNP press conference on Wednesday held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said they continue to take steps to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections.
The DCPO worked with the AFP to implement 69 Comelec checkpoints and conduct 2,940 operations.
The Comelec gun ban started on Aug. 28, 2023, and will end on Nov. 29, 2023.
