THE CITY Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) on Thursday reported no major damage to infrastructures following the 6.4 magnitude earthquake felt on Wednesday evening.
This was according to CDRRMO chief Alfredo Baloran on Thursday.
But Baloran said there are minor cracks in Assumption Davao College and Crossing Bayabas National High School in Toril.
He added the city disaster and City Engineer’s Office continued the conduct of assessment after the quake.
“Makita nato very impressive kaayo kay ang mga tao kanunay naga adopt sa procedures during earthquake (We can see that it is very impressive because people always adopt the procedures during earthquake),” he said.
“Dapat during the incident dili gyud ta mag panic (We should not panic during the incident),” he added.
Meanwhile, Davao Occidental Governor Franklin Bautista has declared a province-wide work suspension for private establishments and government institutions on Thursday, Oct. 5.
He issued Memorandum Order No. 109 on Oct. 5 directing the Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) and Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) to do rapid and thorough inspections in all establishments/buildings to ensure the safety and security of all working personnel.
