THE BUSINESS Bureau recorded more than 42,000 companies that secured their business permits from its one-stop-shop registration activities.
Business Bureau acting head Maribel Paguican said that as of Jan. 30, they were able to print 42,324 applications or 3,485 more than last year’s month-long registration.
“Atoa nang na surpass, kay last year naka generate lang man tag 38,839 sa atong January nga operation. As of yesterday, nakaabot nata’g 42,324 naa pa tay isa ka adlaw nga paabuton. We are very optimistic, we are very positive na malampasan nato by 4,000 plus ang atong performance from last year’s January (We already surpassed because last year we were only able to generate 38,839 for our January operation but as of yesterday, we already reached 42,324 and we still have one day. We are optimistic that we will exceed by 4,000 our performance from the previous January),” Paguican said.
The city expects about 45,000 business applications this year.
“Actually, ang nakabayad palang 33,406, if we get that percentage out of 42,324, naa sa 79 percent pa lang ang nakabayad, so naa ta’y ginapaabot nga mudagsa karon nga 8,900 plus ang mu-renew pa karong adlawa so more or less 10,000 (Actually there are only 33,406 if we get a percentage of that out of 42,324 only 79 percent has paid so we are expecting today, 8,900 plus those who will renew for today, so more or less 10,0000),” Paguican said.
The city opened one-stop-shops at Almendras gym, Buhangin gym, and remote sites in Baguio, Paquibato, and Marilog.
She said Davaoeños should grab the opportunity and avoid the 20 percent surcharge and monthly interest of two percent for those who will fail to pay taxes and renew by Jan. 31, 2023.
Paguican said those who could not renew within the deadline could still pay in the coming days. However, the transactions will exclusively be done at the Business Bureau, SP Building, and shall no longer be at the satellite offices. Renewal can be done throughout the year although late applications will earn penalties.
Those who still can pay for the day are encouraged to pay through walk-in mode and not online because the crediting by banks of the payment may take more than 24 hours.
As to the issuance, Paguican said that they have already issued 22,000 permits and they still need to issue more or less 24,000.
