Davao City – Region XI-DAVRAA ended its campaign at 11th place in the overall standings at the close of the 2019 Palarong Pambansa.
This year’s host tallied 13 golds, 22 silvers and 37 bronze medals way past overall winner NCRAA (86-71-56) followed by Region IV-A STCAA (66-49-73) and Region VI-WVRAA (49-40-58) which placed first, second and third, respectively.
Coming off golden finishes for Region XI-DAVRAA on final day were wushu bets Jeirson Jake Marquez (secondary boys Group B -42kgs-45 kgs) and Geoff Bustamante (secondary boys Group B -45kgs-48kgs) along with wrestler Amado Gerico (secondary boys cadets -42kgs).
Sharing the limelight is Region XI-DAVRAA’s 3-on-3 basketball team which won the secondary girls division with Anghella Coco, Rhea Ville Bausin, Dyna Mae Lampara and Queencel Regeno on its roster. They bested Region VII-CVIRAA in the finals played at the Holy Cross of Davao gym.
Silver finishes came from Clou Joseph Bula and Jennifer Helyn Saladaga (badminton secondary girls) and wushu’s Philip Jacob (secondary boys Group A-45kgs-48kgs).
Region XI-DAVRAA’s volleyball teams placed third in the secondary boys and girls divisions played Saturday at the Davao City-University of the Philippines Sports Complex. Members of the secondary boys team were Leo Aringo Jr, John Samuel Calanza, Andre Bonn Canson, Carl Vincent Dimalanta, Aljon Jimenez, Lourdz Francis Magno, Kobe Daniel Miranda, Jess Toni Sayson, Rayven Sison, Lourience Tolomoro, Rysell Vilarte and Dux Euan Yambao. For the secondary girls they are Keanna Adlao, Julia Andrea Angeles, Katrina Blanco, Jan Angeli Cane, Samantha Castillones, Zia Ada Lyca Dayanan, Takako Fujimoto, Hannah Jane Laguna, Janelle Chilo Maignos, Jonna Chris Perdido, Yvana Avik Sulit and Geezel May Tsunashima.
