DQR is mandatory for everyone | official

THE city government has reminded business establishments to scan the Safe Davao Quick Response (DQR) codes even of children if they are allowed to go out of their homes.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force, said the policy of the city is that the scanning of the code is mandatory for everyone.

“Definitely when the children are allowed to go out, they will definitely need DQR,” said Schlosser, adding that the city government, through Mayor Sara Duterte, even issued an executive order so that everyone will create his or her own code.

“Before kasi wala lang nakuhaan ang mga bata because during those times nga nagkaroon ta og surge dili man allowed mugawas ang bata, therefore, it was not necessary to get the DQR code. But sa atoang executive order mandatory na gyud nga magkaroon og DQR ang tanan,” she said, adding that even infants must have their codes as their parents must register them.

She said scanning of the codes is important to ensure that everyone who is exposed to COVID-19 virus is traced.

This developed as the city government is deploying more personnel to intensify the implementation of minimum public health standards.

Schlosser said that violators will also be arrested.

“Kasi whether we like it or not overwhelmed man ang atoang safety and security cluster and policemen, kay apart from Covid management and the implementation of the MPHS, naa pa man gud main work ang atoang mga personnel such as crimes and all of those things po, labi na pud ang gina-implement nato na household lockdowns,,” Schlosser said.

She added that members of the Response Cluster in the task force, which include the Vice Mayor’s Office, the City Transportation and Traffic Management Office, the Prevention and Enforcement, the City

Economics Enterprise Office, the City Health Office, and the City Tourism Operations Office.

Schlosser said personnel are authorized to arrest those who will not wear masks and will not implement physical distancing in public places.

She added that these deputized personnel will apprehend those who will not wear face masks and will not follow the social distancing.

The personnel will be trained as Angel Sumagaysay, head of the Public Safety and Security Command Center, is looking at deputizing additional 100 personnel.
