THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested eight suspects, including a minor, while seizing P27,000 worth of shabu and marijuana during a 24-hour blitz.
Acting city director Col Hansel M. Marantan said the crackdown on illegal drugs involved seven separate operations across various police stations in the city, including Sta. Ana, Toril, Tugbok, Calinan, Ecoland, Ma-a, and Eden.
He credited the success of these operations to the strong support from the community, with residents actively providing information about drug-related activities in their neighborhoods.
“Illegal drugs are a major contributor to crime in our city,” said Marantan. “We are committed to creating a safer environment for all Davaoeños and these operations are a testament to our dedication.”
The DCPO emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with barangay officials, the community, and the local government to combat the drug problem. Moreover, he vowed to continue their relentless efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in the communities.
