Despite the limitations brought by the Covid-19 Pandemic the Philippine Sports Commission will continue its 7th Women’s Martial Arts Festival from July 8 to 31 through virtual events which will be joined by at least 1700 participants from all over the country.

Delayed by a year due to the pandemic, the festival will feature 7 different martial art events namely: judo, karatedo, muay, arnis, pencak silat, taekwondo and wrestling with participants showcasing their martial arts prowess individually.

PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram said that the continuation of the Martial Art’s Festival virtually is to help in raising awareness on sports, wellness, fitness and all aspects of life that would empower women and girls to be physically active, safe and productive. She also added that the event will help ward off anxiety, stress, depression and other psychological issues that arose due to the pandemic

Participants of the event are encouraged to perform in open spaces or well-ventilated rooms and should adhere to health and safety standards implemented by following DOH and IATF Health Standards.
