Art is slowly but surely making its traction in Mati City with many art related activities happening. Just recently, a solo art exhibit of Davao artist Alex Alagon was held last June 24, 2023 at the only privately owned art gallery in Davao Oriental, the Jing Cayacay Rabat Art Gallery in Mati City. The ribbon cutting ceremony was graced by Mati City Councilor Jerome Dayanghirang and the gallery owners spouses Jing and Nicolo Rabat. This must visit exhibit is titled “Silip” which features recent abstract artworks of the featured artist. Alex Alagon is also the editorial cartoonist of Mindanao Times.
