7 nabbed in buy-bust; P100-K drugs seized

SEVEN drug personalities were nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted by the military and police in Barangay Tuka Kiadlan, Marantao, Lanao del Sur Monday, Feb. 28.

Also, authorities seized more than P100,000 worth of shabu.

Western Mindanao Command chief, Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., identified them as Saokie Marakna Mala, Asnawi Musid Gontora, Ansano Musid Gontora, Jaber Dimao Mustapa, Abdul Kaher Gontora; Onaes Abdul Kader, and Gontora Musib Agar. 

According to the report, they were arrested by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Lanao del Sur (PDEA-LDS), PDEA RSET BARMM, Marantao Municipal Police Station, Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office, Bacolod Kalawi Municipal Police Station, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 51st Infantry Battalion. 

Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, commander of the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan, said the dismantling of the drug den also resulted in the confiscation of more or less 20 grams of alleged shabu with an estimated worth of P136,000. 

The other confiscated items include one M14 rifle with magazine assembly and five live bullets, one automatic sub-machine gun with a magazine and five bullets, one P1,000 peso bill as buy-bust money, two Samsung analog phones, various identification cards, weighing scale, brown leatherette wallet containing P250, black sling bag, black belt bag, and other drug paraphernalia. 

Apprehended personalities and confiscated items were brought to LDS-PPO for filing of appropriate charges and proper disposition.

“The military continues to conduct law enforcement support operations with the police and other law enforcement agencies to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province of Lanao del Sur,” Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. further said.
