Taxi driver arrested after claiming robbery; income lost to gambling 

TAXI driver was arrested by elements of the Maa police after he reported that he was robbed by two passengers in Barangay Magtuod at 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 7.

Major Teresita Gaspan, the newly designated commander of Maa Police Station identified him as Mark Anthony Nacario Cabillon, 30, driver of Krizzia taxi.

In his narration to the police, he was driving his taxi when two individuals flagged him down and asked him to bring them to Magtuod. When they arrived at the area, he was instructed to head to Barangay New Carmen instead. 

Upon arrival at the alluded place, the duo allegedly pointed knives at him and took his earnings amounting to P3,700.

In the course of the investigation, however, Nacario who turned into suspect when he confessed that he lied.

He came up with an alibi when he lost his earnings gambling. A case is now prepared against the suspect.

Gaspan said this will serve as warning to any individual who report or make false information that will cause panic to the community. 

“This office does not tolerate this unlawful acts and let the full length of the law applies. The law may be harsh but that is the law,” she added.
