60th IB joins Guinness record attempt for ‘most people planting bamboo simultaneously’

THE 60TH Infantry Battalion proudly participated in the Guinness World Record attempt for “Most People Planting Bamboo Simultaneously.”

The event, part of the “Kawayanihan: A Circular Economy Movement,” was held in Sitio Kapatagan, Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong, brought together troops and community members in a powerful display of environmental stewardship.

The initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), underscores the battalion’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Bamboo plays a vital role in combating climate change by improving air quality, restoring ecosystems, and promoting biodiversity.

“Every bamboo seedling planted represents a step towards a greener future and strengthens our efforts to combat illegal logging and protect our natural resources,” 60IB said in a statement.

“We are proud to stand alongside our community in this endeavor, planting seeds of hope and resilience for generations to come,” it added.

The 60th Infantry Battalion’s participation in this world record attempt highlights the importance of collective action in creating a sustainable future and inspires others to join the cause.
