A FIRE that broke out in Garcia Heights, Barangay 19-B tragically claimed the life of a 60-year-old man at past 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12.
Fire Senior Inspector Frances Marie Sendrijas, spokesperson of the Davao City Fire District, confirmed the man’s death, which they attributed to a suspected cardiac arrest during the fire.
He was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The blaze reached second-alarm status and took nearly two hours to extinguish.
The fire gobbed 10 houses, affecting 10 families and causing an estimated P300,000 in damage.
The Davao City Fire District is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
