The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has laid out its security plan for the upcoming elections.
Major Teresita P. Gaspan, DCPO spokesperson, said part of the plan is to augment the unit with police trainees from the Regional Training Center 11 – Philippine Public Safety College.
“Ready na ang security plan. In fact, nakalatag na. Naa man gamay i-fine tune nalang gyud, ready na para sa election,” Gaspan said, adding that the city is lucky because there is no area of concern.
She said the augmentation unit will be pulled out anytime and be deployed to the police precincts to help secure their respective areas.
“Tanan ipang-pull out to serve during the local and national elections. During the election, full alert man atong status ana. Kahit naka- schooling, naka-leave, walang pwede na hindi maka-serve, only for emergency cases. Expected tanan mo duty, mag-serve during election,” Gaspan added.
She assured that personnel of the office will remain apolitical and are determined to enforce the law to ensure orderly and peaceful elections.
The official reminded residents to follow health protocols even during the voting process to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic spread will not recur.
Meanwhile, Gaspan said observance of the Holy Week in the city was generally peaceful. “So far, wala kita’y natala nga nakaapekto sa pagpahigayon sa tanang activities sa Holy Week bagkus naging successful kini. According to our security plan, hapsay ug malinawon tanang activities nga gipahigayon during the Holy Week,” she said, adding that the security forces were able to ensure the security during the observance of the Holy Week..
