50 officers undergo leadership training

Fifty police commissioned officers of the Police Regional Office XI underwent a 15-day mandatory training to enhance their leadership skills.

Police Director Cedrick G. Train, head of the Directorate for Human Resource Doctrine and Development (DHRDD), led the opening of the Police Qualification Course held at Police Regional Office (PRO) XI around 2 p.m. on Friday.

“The 15-day mandatory training participated by 50 police commission officers is aimed at developing the police officer’s ability to assume as chiefs of police of higher city police stations or as staff officers in a district, provincial, or regional level to include parallel designations in the National Support Units (NSUs) with the corresponding duties and responsibilities,” Police Regional Office XI director, Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Train emphasized that the chiefs of police are designated on the basis of their competence and ability to lead, supervise, and administer the frontline units of the Philippine National Police.
Train also urged the participants to be the best and the brightest among the qualified officers in the command because the chiefs of police play a key role in achieving the organizational goals.

Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of PRO XI, said the training began on Friday with an orientation and briefing. Regular classes will resume in the succeeding working days.
