4th Infantry Division has a new assistant commander

THE 4TH Infantry (Diamond) Division welcomed Brigadier General Consolito P. Yecla as its new assistant division commander today.

Brig. Gen. Yecla, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw Diwa” Class of 1992, officially assumed the position on July 1st.

Yecla’s appointment was approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., based on the recommendation of the Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., the AFP Chief of Staff, and the AFP Board of Generals.

Upon arrival at Camp Evangelista, Yecla was honored with a traditional military welcome and briefed on the ongoing Joint Task Force Diamond campaign.

He expressed his commitment to building upon the division’s successes in his new role.

Yecla brings extensive experience to the position, having previously served as deputy commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command, commander of Task Force Davao, and in various other leadership roles.

He is no stranger to the 4th Infantry Division, having begun his career with the 30th Infantry Battalion where he played a key role in the surrender of 156 MILF combatants and the rescue of 23 kidnap victims.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, commander of 4ID, expressed full confidence in Yecla’s abilities and highlighted his valuable contributions to the ongoing fight against communist terrorists and local threat groups.
