
MAJOR General Michele B. Anayron Jr., commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, reaffirmed the military’s strong dedication to maintaining peace and stability across the Caraga Region.
This was conducted during the 2nd Quarter 2025 Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) XIII – Caraga Full Council Meeting held on June 4, 2025, at the Almont Inland Convention.
The meeting, presided over by Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, the outgoing RPOC Chairperson, gathered key regional leaders and stakeholders to review and address current peace and order concerns and strategize on enhancing security.
A significant development during the gathering was the oath-taking of Maj. Gen. Anayron as the newly appointed RPOC vice chairperson, in a ceremony that Governor Pimentel administered
This appointment underscores the crucial role of the 4ID Commander in advancing the council’s peace and order agenda within the region.
Anayron was joined by key military officials, including Brigadier General Adolfo B. Espuelas Jr., Commander of the 402nd Infantry Brigade; Brigadier General Arsenio D.C. Sadural, Commander of the 901st Infantry Brigade; and Lieutenant Colonel Jose Redentor C. Gilbuela, Acting Commanding Officer of the 26th Infantry Battalion.
The meeting also saw the attendance of other vital government officials, including Maria Loisella E. Lucino of DILG-Caraga director; PBGen Christopher N. Abrahano of PNP Police Regional Office XIII; FCSupt Rodolfo P. Denaga of BFP; and Bonifacio R. Pulgo of NICA XIII, among other sectoral partners.
Their presence highlighted the unified government approach to achieving a secure and peaceful Caraga.
During the session, RPOC members presented updates and accomplishments in various areas, including anti-criminality efforts, anti-insurgency campaigns, combating violent extremism, and public safety initiatives.
Discussions also covered the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on E-CLIP and the potential inclusion of former rebels as RPOC members.
Colonel Sandy R. Majarocon, the assistant chief of staff for operations (G3) at 4ID, provided a comprehensive update on the Special Action Committee on Anti-Insurgency and Preventing Violent Extremism.
He particularly highlighted 4ID’s ongoing efforts to dismantle remaining communist terrorist group (CTG) networks, disrupt recruitment pipelines, and counter extremist narratives.
In his statement, Anayron emphasized the critical importance of sustained interagency cooperation, active community engagement, and robust intelligence sharing as foundational elements for effectively addressing security challenges and fostering lasting peace in the Caraga Region.
