4ID boosts frontline capabilities with extensive CAFGU refresher training

THE 4TH Infantry (Diamond) Division of the launched an intensive refresher training program for its CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) members, aiming to bolster their frontline capabilities and overall operational preparedness across Northern Mindanao and the Caraga regions.

A total of 180 CAAs commenced their refresher training on June 4, 2025, at the 4th Division (Mentor) Training School (4DTS) in Barangay Impalambong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

This initial batch comprised 176 male and four female CAAs drawn from various brigades and battalions under the 4ID’s operational control.

In a parallel initiative, an additional 200 CAAs began their training on Monday, June 9, 2025, at an official opening ceremony held in Camp Dayoan, Barangay Tago, Surigao del Sur.

The simultaneous conduct of these programs underscores the 4ID’s focused efforts to elevate the standards and capabilities of its auxiliary forces.

The refresher course is designed to reinforce fundamental military skills, discipline, and professionalism among CAA personnel, who serve as vital force multipliers in the Army’s military operations.

Key subjects covered include Military Courtesy, Personal Hygiene, Military Justice, and Military Intelligence.

These core areas are intended to enhance the CAAs’ operational readiness, ethical conduct, and overall effectiveness, particularly in conflict-affected and geographically isolated communities.

Col. Noel Calimquim, chief of the Division CAA Affairs Office (DCAO) of 4ID, emphasized the importance of continuous training in maintaining a mission-ready and professional auxiliary force.

He highlighted that these ongoing programs reflect the division’s dedication to the holistic development of its personnel.

Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, said the refresher training will improve the division’s overall operational preparedness.

He noted that CAAs play a pivotal role in supporting regular troops and in advancing community-based security and peace-building efforts throughout the 4ID’s area of responsibility.
