4 outsiders nabbed for drug trade in city

Four individuals, all transient residents in the city, were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations conducted since Sunday in different areas of the city.

Agents of Talomo Police Station seized more than P100,000 worth of shabu from the three operations.

Chief Insp. Ronald Lao, Talomo Police Station commander, identified the arrested suspects as Kristine Base, 37, a vendor and resident Purok 5, New Corella, Davao del Norte; Loyd Manatad, 36, a public utility vehicle driver and resident Country Homes, Tagum City, Davao del Norte; Efraim Mosqueda, 25, of Sta. Ana, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte; and Elizalde Inocente, 53, a habal-habal driver and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mesaoy, New Corrella.

On Sunday at 1:30 p.m., an operation was conducted along Maharlika Highway, Barangay Alejandra Navarro (Lasang), Bunawan District resulted to the arrest of Inocente.

Inocente arrested for selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer for P20,000.

Lao said his agents confiscated P75,000- worth of illegal drugs.

Police also seized a cellphone, a motorcycle, and a wallet with P1,800.

Lao said the suspect was previously arrested for the same offense in New Corrella on April 18, 2009. He was released from detention on Dec. 2012 when Judge Rowena Adlawan of Regional Trial Court Branch 30 dismissed the case.

On Monday at 3:40 p.m., a buy-bust operation was conducted in Eco-west Drive, Barangay Matina Aplaya, Talomo District, which resulted to the arrest of Manatad and Mosqueda.

Lao said the two were caught in the act of selling shabu to police officer who posed as buyer for P7,000.

The police commander said they confiscated P20,000-worth of illegal drugs.

They also confiscated two cellphones, a commuter van and P500.

The third operation, conducted yesterday at 12:20 p.m. at the parking area of SPMC Hospital in Buhangin, resulted to the arrest of Base.

Base was caught selling one medium-size sachet, containing shabu, to a police officer who posed as buyer.

Operatives seized P30,000-worth of illegal drugs, placed in a chocolate candy wrapper.

They confiscated a cellphone and P3,000 money.

Base, Lao said, was previously arrested for the same offence in November of 2013. She was convicted and released from jail after entering a plea bargaining for a reduced penalty last June 28, 2017.
