AUTHORITIES arrested four individuals, two of them wearing military uniforms, after allegedly seizing shabu and unlicensed firearms from their possession at Calinan and Lasang checkpoints, around 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 11-12.
Captain John Louie Dema-ala, spokesperson of Task Force Davao, said operatives first arrested Roland Orapa Arabilla, 43, and Rhence Razon Delos Santos, 18, both residents of Barangay Saloy, Calinan for possession of shabu worth P105,600.
The two were arrested around 2 a.m. on Friday as they were heading toward the city on a black Rusi 175 motorcycle with temporary plate number L28 7BY.
Around 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 11, Apolinar S Sugala Jr, 25, a resident of Poblacion Trento, Agusan del Sur, and Arvin Harold E Hernandez, 31, residing in Barangay Sasa, Buhangin were arrested at Barangay Lacson, Calinan checkpoint.
The two were wearing military uniforms, which violated Article 179 of the RPC (Illegal Use of Uniform and Insignia).
Moreover, items seized from their possession included a 9mm pistol (Bersa) with serial number 16574 and .45 caliber pistol (Armscor) with serial number 1003470, along with magazines and bullets. Police also confiscated two sets of battle dress uniforms (Philarpat).
Task Force Davao deputy commander Colonel Ronaldo G. Valdez acknowledged the soldiers for their continuous commitment to ensuring the prevention of illegal items and contraband from entering Davao City.
The suspects and the seized evidence were promptly handed over to police for the filing of appropriate cases.
