35 LGUs in Mindanao Receive P18 Million Lotto and STL Shares from PCSO

Island Garden City of Samal – On November 11, 2022, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Melquiades A. Robles, together with Assistant General Manager for Branch Operations Sector Remeliza Jovita Gabuyo, turned over checks to 35 Local Government Units (LGUs) in Mindanao at the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte.
During the brief turn-over ceremony, the checks representing shares from Lotto and Small Town Lottery (STL) bearing the amount of P18,050,052.33 for Mindanao LGUs were handed to Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Province of Davao de Oro including Compostela, Nabunturan, Montevista, New Bataan, Mawab, Maco, Mabini, Pantukan, Laak and Maragusan, Province of Davao del Norte including Braulio E. Dujali, Carmen (Dist II), Kapalong (Dist I), New Corella (Dist I), Panabo (Dist II), Samal (Dist II), Sto. Tomas (Dist II) and Tagum City, Davao City, Digos City, Davao del Sur, Province of Davao Oriental including Mati City, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, Province of North Cotabato including Kidapawan City, Makilala and Midsayap, General Santos City, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Takurong City, Sultan Kudarat, Province of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Zibugay.
Among the LGU officials present during the ceremony were Davao City Vice Mayor Jay Melchor Quitain Jr., Province of North Cotabato Board Member JoemarCerebo and General Santos City Mayor Lorelie G. Pacquiao.
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte represented by Vice Mayor Quitain, expressed his utmost gratitude for the Agency’s continued support to the people of Davao as well as to its neighboring cities and municipalities. “It is evident that the PCSO has been consistent in providing vital assistance to the Filipino people especially those who are needing medical assistance as well as those greatly affected by the adversities of the pandemic. The formal turn-over of the Lotto shares to the city government of Davao signifies accomplishment for both parties and shall contribute to the pandemic recovery efforts of the city and of the nation. The beneficiaries commended PCSO for providing funds which will help support the various projects and programs the city government for its constituents particularly the marginalized, through charitable works and healthcare services.
Pursuant to Executive Order No. 357-A, a 5% percent share from the 30% percent Lotto Charity Fund shall be granted to LGUs specifically for Cities/Municipalitiesand 2% percent for Provinceswhere lotto tickets are sold.
