3,000 cops to secure ‘Undas’ on Nov. 1-2

More or less 3,000 PNP personnel will deployed for commemoration of the All Souls Day and All Saints Day.

Speaking in yesterday’s AFP-PNP press briefing in Task Force Davao headquarters, Cpt. Nolan Tagsip, the spokesperson of Davao City Police Office, said they already conducted a series of conferences to make sure their security plan is in place.

The Police Regional Office XI also committed to send additional personnel to augment the security force of the city.

Tagsip then encouraged the public to clean the tombs earlier because knives and sharp tools will be banned from the cemeteries on Nov. 1 and 2.

Also, he said, liquors and loud speakers are not allowed inside the cemeteries.

The Davao City Police is composed of 2,100 PNP personnel.

Maj. Jason Baria, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office XI, said they will wait for the request of the commanders on the ground if they need to send additional personnel.

“Also, if there are changes in the operational plan, so we will wait for that,” he added.

He said there will be police assistance desks that will be mounted in the public and private cemeteries.
