3 drug suspects, including taxi driver, nabbed in entrapment

A TAXI driver was arrested in a joint buy-bust operation led by the Sta. Ana Police Station in Purok 24, Sto. Niño Gasay Settlers in Barangay Ma-a, at 1:23 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. 

The taxi driver was identified as Bengie Apas Calubag, 47, a resident of the said area.

According to the report, the suspect was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of shabu to an operative in exchange for P16,000. Seized from him were other packs of illegal drugs weighing  8.65 grams and worth P138,400.

He is now in the custody of the Sta. Ana Police Station facing a case for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, a tattoo artist,  sand and gravel dicer, and another companion were also arrested in a separate buy-bust by the Bajada Police Station in Barangay Paciano Bangoy, at 9:22 p.m. on the same day.

They were identified as Rafie Salapa, 33, a resident of Mitsui Bussan Village in Bajada, and Vincent Landasan Silagan, 33, a Barangay 19-B resident. 

Captain Hazel Tuazon, Davao City Police Office spokesperson, said the arresting officers seized two more sachets of shabu worth P10,000 from the suspects. They are now in the custody of the Bajada Police Station while waiting for the charge of violating Sec. 5 and 11 of RA 9165.
