  • 28,000 security personnel to secure Holy Week, Ramadan

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) will deploy 27,997 personnel, police auxiliary, and force multipliers to ensure the safe and orderly observation of the Holy Week and Ramadan.

From March 22 to March 31, police forces will be assigned to places of worship and areas of convergence, such as churches, mosques, airports, inland resorts, seaports, terminals, and other tourist spots.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, said the public is reminded to adhere to standard security regulations enforced during special events, such as prohibiting the bringing of jackets, backpacks, sharp objects, non-transparent water bottles, and other prohibited items.

For those planning to go on a trip during the long holidays, families and individuals are advised to secure their homes and leave no chance for burglars.

She said the DCPO targets zero incidents during the Holy Week and Ramadan observances, just as no incident was reported during the Araw ng Dabaw festivities.

To achieve this goal, cooperation and vigilance from each citizen are needed, she added.” Everyone is urged to be aware of their surroundings, not just rely on the safety and security cluster alone,” she further said.
