THE city government provided 2,322 families who evacuated on Monday night hot meals through its mobile kitchen after they left their homes as a result of the flooding.
City Social Services and Development Office (CSWDO) head Marlisa Gallo told the City Information Office said that her office ordered the mobile kitchen to serve meals to those affected by the incident as the office also distributed modular kits.
Gallo said the next morning, many of those affected returned to their homes. “Mostly nanguli na, except ang naa Barangay Tigatto, Brgy- 19,” Gallo said.
Those affected were from Gravahan, Matina Crossing; Juliville Subdivision, Sitio Uyanguren, Purok 5, and DMMA in Barangay Tigatto; San Rafael, and other areas in Barangay Maa; ten Puroks in Barangay Waan; Central Park, Talomo Elementary School, Bulusan, Taal Road and Our Lady of St. Lourdes in Barangay Talomo Proper;Tugbok Proper; Barangay 5-A; Barangay Sto. Niño, Barangay Mandug, Barangay 19-B and Barangay Lasang.
On Tuesday, Alfredo Baloran, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief, said there was no report of injured individuals.
“At least nalipay ta nga wala’y natala nga casualties,” he said, although he added that a landslide affected the road in Malapangi, Barangay Malabog.
