  • DCPO pulls out all the stops to secure Kadayawan activities 

MORE THAN 20,000 security forces are deployed starting today, Aug. 14, to provide security for all Kadayawan activities, especially the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and Pamulak parade, which are expected to draw thick crowds.

The Davao City Police Office contributed most of the total 23,054 law enforcers with augmentation from the Police Regional Office XI, Task Force Davao, Joint Task Force Haribon, Davao Coast Guard, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency XI, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group- Davao City Field Unit, and the Regional Mobile Unit.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office, Civil Security Unit XI, City Transport and Traffic Management Office, City Environment and Natural Resources, City Health Office, Davao City Overland Transport Terminal, and the Public Safety and Security Office also sent their respective teams as support. 

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), earlier said more or less 10,000 PNP personnel were already deployed starting Aug. 8 to secure Kadayawan-related activities.

The send-off ceremony was conducted around 3 p.m. at the DCPO parade grounds in Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor along San Pedro Street. She also said they submitted a request for a gun ban starting this week, which may extend through the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in October.
