2 women hurt after barangay-owned bus loses brakes

TWO WOMEN were injured after jumping off a bus that lost its brakes and slammed into a house before overturning in Purok 5, Barangay Tamayong, Calinan District around 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified them as Allumar Luna Canoy, 26, female, married, and Amor Obong Asan, 26, married, both residents of Purok 5, Barangay Tamayong.

While the Isuzu bus, owned by the Tamayong Barangay Council, was driven by 

Renato Villagonzalo Salada, 52, married, a resident of Purok 3, of the said barangay. He survived the fall without any injury.

According to the report, the bus was descending the downhill portion of the road when the driver lost the brakes. He then informed his passengers to jump. 

Moreover, the bus flew through the bend and landed at the property of Vincent Calderon. 

The driver and passengers were rescued by Barangay Tamayong responders and brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
