TWO STUDENTS were arrested when authorities allegedly found marijuana in their possession while passing through the joint Comelec checkpoint at Sitio Uguis, Barangay Eden, Toril District, around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified them as Niño Ray Tablizo, 18, a resident of San Roque; and Jayvie Abellanida Mier, 21, a resident of San Jose, both in Barangay Daliao, Toril district.
Personnel of Eden Police Station (PS19), 27th Infantry Battalion, and the Task Force Davao arrested the suspects after they found a sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing 1.16 grams worth P700 from them.
For now, the two are under custody of the Eden Police Station, facing a case for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
