2 pushers killed

Two alleged drug dealers from Marawi City were killed by police operatives during a buy-bust operation where around P1 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in Boulevard area in Barangay 23-C, Poblacion District past midnight yesterday.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Capt. Rosario Aguilar identified the fatalities as Minsuari Abubakar Cairoding, 23, and a certain Jalil, both from Barangay Sugod, Marawi, Lanao del Sur.

Major Michael Uyanguren, the station commander of Sta. Ana police, said Cairoding was a big-time drug supplier in the city.

Uyanguren said they received information from the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) that Cairoding was monitored to have been engaged in bulk delivery of shabu and other illegal drugs. Operatives them conducted a surveillance that turned out to the positive.

“The relentless support of the Barangay Intelligence Network in giving information on the illegal activity of the subject is a big factor to decrease the drug-peddling activity (in the city),” Uyanguren said.

The operation happened at Zonta Seaside, Purok 4-A of Barangay 23-C at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday.

During the operation, an undercover policeman was about to buy a sachet of shabu for P3,000 from Cairoding who was aided by Jalil.

When the buyer announced himself as a police officer, Cairoding and Jalil resisted.

Cairoding drew gun and pointed it to the officer.

But the police officer was able to tap Cairoding’s hand. To defend himself, the officer fired his gun, hitting Cairoding in his body.

During the commotion, the armed Jalil was warned by the immediate back-up operatives to stick up.

However, Jalil shot one of the operatives who was able to evade.

This prompted the officers to fire back, hitting Jalil.

The two suspects were rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center by the operating team on board a responding police mobile. They did not reach the hospital alive.

Scene of the Crime Operative team recovered a homemade .38 caliber revolver without serial number loaded with four live bullets and one empty cartridge case, a Armscor 202 .38 SPL caliber revolver with fiver live bullets and one empty cartridge case, five fired cartridge cases of cal. 9mm. and two fired bullet slugs.
