2 nabbed for P2.5-M shabu

Police confiscated P2.5 million worth of shabu from two arrested drug suspects, both considered high-value targets, during a buy-bust operation inside an inn in downtown area on Sunday night.

Lt. Col. Jed Clamor, the commander of the Toril Police Station that spearheaded the operation, identified the suspects as Patrick Serano Villanueva, 40, single, jobless, a resident of Lopzcom, Diversion Road, and Arnel Llamas Gocotano, 39, married, jobless, a resident of Purok 1, Gamaon District, Barangay Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

Clamor said they had monitored the duo to have been selling illegal drugs all over the city so they conducted the operation.

During the operation in which the trade-off was set inside Room 218 of Sampaguita Inn at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Camus Street on Sunday night, an undercover agent was able to buy a sachet of shabu for P1,000 from the two suspects.

The operatives immediately arrested the two after the exchange.

Agents recovered from Villanueva’s possession a camouflage slingbag containing a transparent cellophane containing four big sachets of shabu, weighing around 100 grams, with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P2,500,000.

The suspects are detained now at Toril Police Precinct pending the filing of charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
