THE POLICE Regional Office XI successfully apprehended two of the most wanted individuals in Davao Region, both involved in sexual abuse, during a simultaneous operation in Sto. Tomas and Tagum City on Tuesday, June 4.
One of the captured suspects, alias Jeff, holds the notorious title of the Number 2 Most Wanted Person in the Davao Region.
The individual was taken into custody for five counts of rape, per the warrant of arrest with no bail recommended issued by 11th Judicial Region Branch 3 Judge Minerva Pepino-Estremos in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
In parallel operation, alias Bert was apprehended for sexual assault under Article 266-A (2) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5(b) of Article III of Republic Act No. 7610.
Bert was captured by virtue of the warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 2 Presiding Judge Jimmy Boco in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
“I commend the dedication of our personnel for their relentless efforts in apprehending these dangerous individuals. Today’s operations testify that we are more than serious in putting all criminals behind bars, especially those who abuse the weak and the vulnerable,” Brig Gen Aligre Martinez, regional director of PRO XI, said.
“The Police Regional Office XI continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of the community, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in reporting any suspicious activities that may threaten public safety,” he added.
