2 drug suspects arrested in Davao del Norte busts

Two drug  suspects are facing a charge after they were arrested in separate operations in Sto. Tomas and Carmen, Davao del Norte on Jan. 17.

Chief Insp. Jason Baria,  the spokesperson of PRO XI, said Joey Amihan Relox, alias Joy, 45, and a resident of Purok 1 of Barangay Kinamon in Sto. Tomas, was arrested in a buy-bust operation.

A total of 15 sachets of suspected shabu, .45 Colt MK IV pistol with one magazine and three live ammunition, and P1,000 buy-bust money were recovered from the suspect. The suspect is included in the provincial drugs watchlist.

Around 12:45  p.m. of the same day, personnel of Carmen town, Davao Norte conducted buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of Marklou Bones Garcia, 35, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Katipunan, Panabo City.

Two sachets of suspected shabu, steel pipe used as improvised tooter, and one .45 caliber pistol loaded with five bullets were recovered from the suspect.

Garcia was a newly identified drug dealer, the police said. He was allegedly seen selling shabu during the fiesta celebration in Sitio Bumbaran, Purok 1, Barangay Ising, Carmen.

“He was one of the closest friend of Gerald Dimao alias Tingkoy who was monitored as drug peddler at the area of Barangay Taba, Carmen, Davao del Norte and neighboring barangays and listed as number 1 of the Top 10 drug personality-municipal level,” he added.

Criminal cases will be filed against the arrested persons for drugs and violation of the gun ban.
