2 arrested for election gun ban

TWO INDIVIDUALS were arrested for allegedly violating the Comelec gun ban on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, Davao City Police Office spokesperson, said the first person caught was Christopher Hintonoro, 34, accused of harassing a neighbor in Purok 1-C, Barangay Talomo, Calinan District on Aug. 29.

The Calinan Police Station seized an improvised homemade firearm (de bomba)from the suspect. 

Meanwhile, a .38 revolver was confiscated from the top 3 drug personality identified as Roldan Villarta alias Dan-Dan, 49, from Malagamot, Barangay Panacan

He was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Sasa Police Station. Police also seized 5.18 grams of shabu worth P82,880 from his possession. 

For now, the two suspects will be charged with violation of RA 10591 in relation to the Comelec Omnibus Election Code (BP881).

The DCPO warned gun owners to be aware of the suspension of the Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) unless they have permission from the Comelec.
