The City Government already distributed 197,100 relief goods for the second round of food rationing.
Mayor Sara Duterte, in an interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday, said that 75 barangays in the city were already covered by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The CSWDO is expected to continue distributing food packs in the coming days to cover the city’s 182 barangays. During the first round, the CSWDO distributed a total of 428,571 grocery packs in all the barangays in the city.
The City Agriculturist Office and the City Veterinarian’s Office (Agri-Vet) have been distributing fresh produce to the different villages in the city. They already covered a total of 36,483 beneficiaries since April 2.
The Agri-Vet also distributed a total of 34,876 kilos of fish and 19,540 kilos of chicken and pork, targeting those in economically depressed areas on the same period.
Duterte said that the Agri-Vet are supporting CSWDO’s food ration by giving vegetables, pork, chicken, fish, milk, and other fresh products to people who have not received food ration.
“They (Agri-vet) are supporting the CSWDO by making sure that those who were not given grocery packs will be given fresh produce of food like chicken, pork, and vegetables,” she said.
Distribution of fresh produce continued on April 22 when Agri-Vet also distributed 1,000 liters of milk in Dumoy and 3,000 liters in Barangay Tigatto, while Barangay Cabantian received 750 kilos of pork. On April 23, Barangay Tigatto also benefited 500 kilos of pork, salt, and 240 liters of cooking oil.
The city mayor also said that the bulk of the chicken and pork supplies were donated by the private sector.
