OVER 160 illegally cut gmelina logs were seized by the 60th Infantry Battalion troops in Purok 1, Barangay Sta. Fe, New Corella, Davao del Norte on Nov 16, 2024.
According to the 60th Infantry Battalion, the owner was unable to present any permit for the timber.
The seized logs totaled 167 pieces, with varying dimensions:4x4x6: 52 pieces, 2x4x6: 29 pieces, and 2x8x6: 86 pieces.
On Sunday, around 9 a.m., troops from the Sta. Fe patrol base, led by Sgt. Suan, provided security assistance to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office of New Corella, headed by Quincy Carlo Dalisay, during the scaling and apprehension of the illegally cut logs.
The operation concluded around 10:10 a.m. The troops remained in the area to secure the seized gmelina logs.
