13 students complain of food poisoning

THIRTEEN students of San Pedro College were brought to the hospital after alleged food poisoning at Guzman Street, Barangay 13-B, around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23.

Lt Col Ronald Lao, commander of the Sta. Ana Police Station, said the office received information regarding food poisoning that transpired at San Pedro College.

The duty investigator dispatched Mobile No. 88 to verify the report.

Based on the investigation, at around 4:30 p.m., the 13 students complained of stomach aches, vomiting and nausea. Of the number, five students were admitted, eight were discharged, and one student was admitted at the Metro Davao Medical Research Inc. (MDMRCI) Hospital at J.P. Laurel Avenue.

Furthermore, the report showed that before the incident, San Pedro College had a three-day fundraising event inside the campus and students were allowed to sell food as part of the community outreach.

Lao said they coordinated with the school administration. Meanwhile, TIMES is still reaching out to the San Pedro College on their page for their side on the incident.
