THE 10TH Infantry Division (10ID) reported sustained peace and security within its area of responsibility, with no recent communist rebel activity.
This was the announcement of Major Ruben Gadut, spokesperson for the 10ID, announced in during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps press briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, July 3.
The division’s joint operational area covers regions 10, 12, and 13.
“We haven’t monitored any form of harassment, recruitment, or violence initiated by the communist terrorist group (CTG) for the time being,” said Gadut.
He elaborated on the 10ID’s ongoing efforts: “We continue to conduct peace and law enforcement operations, development support activities, and strengthen the integrated territorial defense system.”
Last week, the 60th Infantry Battalion headquarters in Camp Morgia hosted the Former Rebel Summit 2024.
Gadut explained that the summit brought together 150 former rebels from Davao del Norte and Agusan del Sur for focused discussions on fostering unity and development.
“The summit aimed to improve the delivery of benefits to former rebels,” he said. “Additionally, we’re maintaining contact with People’s Organizations (POs) by monitoring, visiting, and recently holding a meeting with 36 PO officers in preparation for their federation.”
Gadut concluded by reiterating that “the peace and security situation remains stable within the 10th Infantry Division’s joint operational area.”
