THE 10TH Infantry Division, working with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Philippine National Police, successfully deployed over 8,000 personnel under Joint Task Force Agila to ensure the peaceful and orderly 2025 National and Local Elections on May 12, 2025.
The extensive deployment focused on securing polling centers, providing secure escorts for election paraphernalia, and maintaining overall public safety, with particular attention to areas identified as election hotspots.
The deployed personnel breakdown included 597 individuals assigned to joint AFP-PNP-Comelec checkpoint operations; 5,388 personnel stationed at polling places; and a significant standby force of 2,177 troops ready for rapid response to any election-related contingencies.
During the Davao Peace Security press briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Major Ruben Gadut, the 10ID Public Affairs Office chief, said they tapped officers, enlisted soldiers, members of the Philippine National Police, and personnel from the CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAA).
Across the Davao Region, the soldiers manned entry and exit points of polling sites, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted flow of the electoral process for voters.
Agila Division commander Major General Allan Hambala reported that the Division’s joint operational area experienced zero major election-related incidents.
“This successful outcome is a testament to the collaborative dedication of our personnel, the proactive support of local government units, the effective partnership with law enforcement agencies, and the crucial vigilance of our communities,” said Hambala.
Throughout the election period, the division emphasized strict non-partisanship among its ranks, fostered strong community engagement initiatives, and maintained a robust rapid response capability.
