Carlo Sampan, head of Milo Sports, said, “We believe sports teach kids life skills and values that help them succeed in life. So we nourish kids’ journey to success with nutritious energy and the inspiration to grow and succeed with sports. “
With 61 years of building champions and developing grassroots sports in the Philippines, Milo Active Philippines is a nationwide campaign promoting active lifestyles through the National Milo Marathon, Sports Clinics, Barangay Liga, and partnerships with DepEd, PSC, and LGUs.
It aims to reach three million kids by 2025 with accessible programs like Milo Safe Swim, bringing sports and life skills closer to more communities. The newest addition to the Milo Sports Program is Safe Swim, a nationwide initiative tapping 3,600 kids that teaches water safety skills to children and parents to prevent drowning, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross.
Beyond sports, Milo Active Pilipinas champions values like grit, discipline, and teamwork to build a healthier, more confident generation. It is known to hold the Philippines’ largest and longest-running marathon, uniting casual and competitive runners, families, friends, and, just recently, PWDs.
Milo aims to hold 1,000 classes nationwide, 35 total sports, including exciting new additions like pole vaulting, bowling, and skateboarding, alongside fan favorites like basketball, taekwondo, and tennis.
From the Cagayan Valley of the north to Mindanao, ensuring that every kid has access and opportunity to start their champion journey, the mission is to make sports inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for all children, including girls, children with disabilities, and indigenous communities.
In store for Grassroots Sports in Mindanao are the Milo Marathon with PSC: Walk Run and Roll ( Surigao, July 20), 1st Mindanao Cheerdance Championships (Davao), Gymnastics Camp (CDO, June). To be announced are Karate championships, Taekwondo Nationals, Mindanao Inter-school Swimming Championships, Football Cup (South Mindanao), and Zamboanga Basketball Tournament.
