100 families receive food, other supplies

ABOUT 100 households that were members of indigenous communities received food packages, hygiene kits and household supplies on Sunday in Barangay Salapawan, Paquibato District.

First Lieutenant Gen Adrian Gautane, Civil-Military Operation (CMO) officer of 27th Infantry Battalion, said the packages were from the battalion and the local government units.

Aside from food packages, the households also received kitchen kits, hygiene kits and slippers.

Gautane said activity was part of the Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Outreach Program, a collaboration between the city government, the barangay officials, the Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI, the military unit in partnership with Seljure Construction Company, Gemma Construction Supply Company, Coastland Construction Company and Davao City Quarry Masters Cooperative (Paquibato Chapter).

He said the activity demonstrated the efforts of the government, in partnership with other stakeholders, in reaching out to communities, particularly those Geographically Isolated and Disadvantage Areas and Conflict Affected Areas.

Gautane said those implementing the activity also made sure that minimum health standards are followed.
