TEN INDIVIDUALS, including the alleged maintainer of a drug den and a government employee, were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Purok Suaybaguio B, Barangay Magugpo North, Tagum City on Feb. 12.

The coordinated operation, which took place at approximately 7:55 PM, was carried out by agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, the Tagum City Police Station, and the Philippine Coast Guard.

The primary target of the operation was a suspected drug den operating in the area.

Authorities arrested a 31-year-old individual, identified only as “Hanz,” the alleged maintainer of the den after he sold suspected shabu worth P 8,000 to an undercover PDEA agent.

Seven visitors caught in the act of a shabu session, along with two alleged employees of the drug den, were also apprehended.

During the raid, authorities seized seven sachets containing approximately 14 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 126,000.

Assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the buy-bust were also recovered from the scene.

The suspects will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, the PDEA XI said they are continuing their investigation to determine the extent of the drug den’s operations and to identify any other individuals involved.
