- DCPO seize more than P800-K in illegal drugs within 24 hours
AUTHORITIES arrested 10 individuals and seized more than P800,000 worth of shabu in six police operations within 24 hours covering Sept. 25-26.
According to city director Col. Hansen Marantan, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the city.
He credited the invaluable support of the community for consistently providing information about individuals involved in illegal drugs. As a result, several police stations successfully carried out anti-illegal drug operations within 24 hours and seized shabu with a total estimated street price of P856,664.
The breakdown of the confiscated shabu per police station is as follows:
- PS1-Sta Ana – P792,880 (Estimated value of drugs confiscated)
- PS2-San Pedro – P2,040
- PS5-Buhangin – P455,288
- PS6-Bunawan – P3,324
- PS8-Toril – P13,124
Marantan said, “The DCPO acknowledges and appreciates the support of the barangay officials, the community, and the local government unit in joining this campaign.”
“Illegal drugs are a significant factor contributing to crime in various areas. Thus, the DCPO team will not cease conducting operations against illegal drugs to provide a safer place for all Davaoeños,” he added.
