1 soldier, 2 Cafgus killed in Davao Oro Army truck mishap

THE 10TH Infantry (Agila) Division reported a road mishap involving a military vehicle on Saturday, May 18, in Barangay Andap, New Bataan, Davao de Oro, resulting in the death of three individuals.

10ID spokesperson Major Ruben Gadut, said Private First Class Jaynor Makakua, the driver, and two members of the Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA), Reynaldo Balaga and Ferlan Conception, all from the 25th Infantry Battalion, died in the incident. 

Six other personnel were injured but are now in stable condition.

“The military truck’s engine reportedly shut off while traversing an inclined road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle,” according to the report.

Gadut said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The 10th ID expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and requested privacy during this time of mourning.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased,” 10ID said in a statement. “These individuals were esteemed members of our 10ID family, and their dedication to our mission will always be honored and cherished.”
