Filmmaker Tim Burton made a slightly different (call it “de-tusked) live action take of the well-loved story of “Dumbo”, the flying elephant. While I miss the warm, sometimes painful touch of the 1941 animation (his relationship with Timothy Q. Mouse is nowhere to be found in the 2019 flick), it still has its delightful reasons that make this version worthy to be watched, including Collin Farrell’s comeback, the gorgeous Eva Green, and the reunion of Batman and Penguin (Michael Keaton and Danny de Vito). “Dumbo” is showing this week in SM Cinemas nationwide.
