THE VICE president revealed that she did not inform former President Rodrigo Duterte about her plan to endorse Senator Imee Marcos and Congresswoman Camille Villar.

Hindi ko binanggit sa kanya yung dalawang extra senators na kinakampanya ko,” Vice President Sara Duterte told reporters in a presscon after she cast her vote Monday, May 12.

She said she believed in the capacity of Imee Marcos to lead following the senator’s inquiry in the alleged abduction of the former president to The Hague.

“Senator Imee is not BBM, just like Rodrigo Duterte is not Sara Duterte. Pareho sila ng apilyedo and I’m sure sa DNA nila pareho sila ng ugali, pero sa trabaho nila magkaiba talaga sila,” she said.

Magaling at very particular and meticulous si Senator Imee, which we do not see [to BBM],” Duterte added.

The PDP Laban has officially adopted Senator Marcos and Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar as guest candidates in its senatorial slate for the May 12 midterm elections.

The announcement was made on Saturday evening, two days before the day of the election and the last day of the 90-day campaign period for senatorial and party-list candidates.

“There is a need for more allies to protect the Vice President against impeachment. It is practical for PDP to complete the 12 Senatorial slate,” the resolution reads.

However, VP Sara said she was not consulted by PDP with the decision, but the party “decided on its own.”

It can be noted, FPRRD endorsed Gringo Honasan and Ariel Querubin, but the PDP rather adopted Marcos and Villar to complete the 12 senatoriables.

She shared the recent conversation with FPRRD where they discussed the status of the campaign and the chances of the senatorial slate, revealing that she is more confident than two can be elected.

The official also said she is ready to face the impeachment proceedings even if they could not muster enough supporters in the Senate to quash the process.

Tiningnan ko sila as a group of individuals, hopefully, who can continue to push for Tunay na Pagbabago, which was supposedly the campaign in 2022 but was not seen apparently,” she stressed.
