Vice President Sara Duterte clarified that their recent family gathering was purely personal and not political.
“It was just a family conversation,” she said, explaining that the meeting on August 15 was to celebrate her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman’s birthday.
“My mother has two birthdays due to a late registration mistake back in 1948,” she added.
VP Sara further explained that they celebrate her mother’s birthday twice: once in April, her actual birth month, and again on August 14th, the date on her birth certificate.
“The photo and dinner happened on August 15th, one day after the birthday on her birth certificate,” she said, and that no political discussions took place during the gathering.
“They just updated each other about the grandchildren, asking about what happened to whom and where they are studying,” she concluded.
VP Sara was seen having dinner with her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, mother Elizabeth Zimmerman, and her two siblings Congressman Paolo Duterte and Mayor Sebastian Duterte.
